Château, Villa or Apartment: Where to Stay in France

A château stay is a traditional country estate: stone walls, a plunge pool, a garden terrace and total quiet behind wrought-iron gates. Perfect for couples and small groups who want a slower pace.
Villas in Provence or the Riviera suit families and groups — large pools, gardens, space for children, and staff who can cook. You will want a car and driver, as taxis from the coast into town add up.
Modern apartments in Paris, Lyon or Bordeaux are the practical choice for longer stays and business trips: lifts, parking, supermarkets and cafes on the doorstep.
